Danish Working Environment Authority

The Danish Working Environment Authority is responsible for administering the Working Environment Act in Denmark, and is guiding companies on health and safety rules at the workplace.

The Danish Working Environment Authority (WEA) is responsible for administering the Working Environment Act in Denmark. The WEA inspects companies in order to prevent accidents and sickness and to ensure safe working places.

As a foreign company in Denmark you will meet the WEA when they inspect your company’s working environment. They will also check whether your company is registered in the Register of Foreign Service Providers (RUT). The WEA also gives advice to companies on working environment issues.

The WEA can penalise companies who do not follow the working environment rules. In cases of extreme danger the WEA may order your work to be suspended.

In Danish the WEA is called ‘Arbejdstilsynet’. Learn more about the WEA at their English site.
