Other occupations where the Danish Maritime Authority requires completion of a safety course of about 3 days

If you want to establish yourself or work on a permanent basis in Denmark you need to apply to the competent authority for authorization or similar official recognition.

How to apply?

There is no application form. Instead, write a letter stating your profession and explaining that you wish to work on a permanent basis. You should enclose the documents mentioned below under:

  • Proof of nationality, for example, a copy of identity card or passport
  • Certificates, diplomas etc. relevant to your profession
  • Your contact information: first name and family name, address, phone and e-mail, if any. If somebody else is sending the documents, e.g. a company sending documents on your behalf: The sender's name, address, phone and e-mail, if any.
  • Medical aptitude certificate

Temporary or occasional pursuit

The same requirements apply for both temporary and permanent service providers.

Establishing a business

The same requirements apply for both temporary and permanent service providers.

Requirements for non EU citizens and businesses

The same requirements apply as for EU citizens and businesses.

Fee

No fee required.

When can I expect an answer?

The decision on whether or not to issue an authorization will be made as soon as possible after all necessary documents have been received. Normally you can expect to get an answer from The Danish Maritime Authority within four weeks

In case of rejection

If The Danish Maritime Authority decides to reject your application for authorization, you will receive a reasoned notification. If you disagree with the decision to refuse your application, you have the right to appeal.

The deadline for submitting an appeal is four weeks from date on which the decision was announced.
