Retailers of e-cigarettes (via cross-border distance sales)
You need to register your company if you supply e-cigarettes (including e-liquids with nicotine, devices, and components thereof) to consumers in Denmark from places of sale in other EU/EEA countries.
Without confirmation of registration from the Danish Safety Technology Authority, you must not supply a relevant product to a consumer via a cross-border distance sale.
How to apply?
The registration is made by sending registration form to the Danish Safety Technology Authority about:
- name and address of the company
- the date from which the company offers products via cross-border sales.
- the web-address and additional information about the website.
You can send the application via Business in Denmark website by clicking on “Upload application”. You can also send the form to the Safety Technology Authority Danish by post, fax or e-mail. We prefer to receive registrations via e-mail. Find contact details below.
Direct access to application
The Danish Safety Technology Authority will regularly publish and update a list of registered retailers on its website. In case of changes of the registered information, the registered party is obliged to inform the Danish Safety Technology Authority hereof.
Requirements for non EU citizens and businesses
The same requirements apply as for EU citizens and businesses.

When can I expect an answer?
The Danish Safety Technology Authority will maintain the short average time of 14 days for processing the registration.
