Exports of products and technology subject to export controls are subject to one or more of the following authorisations, which are graded according to the sensitivity of the products and the countries.
- Community general export authorisation (exports to seven closely related countries).
- Global export authorisations (regular exports to less critical countries and end-users).
- Individual export authorisation (non-recurring export order, exports to critical countries and end-users and always in connection with catch-all).
- One general authorisation. This authorisation requires that the enterprise has introduced an internal export control compliance program.
Various rules apply depending on whether exports are intended for other EU Member States, the seven closely related countries or other third countries. This is also important for which type of authorisation is required.
