Denmark’s participation in EXPO 2025 Osaka, Japan
Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden joined forces and participated with a joint Nordic pavilion at EXPO 2025. The Nordic countries aimed at strengthen ties with Japan and Japanese companies and the Nordic participation in Expo 2025 underscored our significant commitment to the Japanese market.
By working together rather than competing, the joint pavilion benefited from the Nordic brand and made a strong impression at the world exposition. 1.6 million visitors visited the Joint Nordic Pavilion.
Designed by Rimond Architects, the Nordic Pavilion was a 1200 m2, 17 m high wooden structure that illustrated a timeless and sustainable mindset. The pavilion housed a joint Nordic exhibition, a shop, a roof terrace with a café, as well as a conference room and meeting facilities.

Who organizes EXPO?
When Denmark officially participates in EXPO, it typically happens on the basis of a public-private partnership, where the state and private partners join forces to finance, develop and implement the exhibition.
In years when Denmark officially participates, the Danish Business Authority is responsible for organizing the Danish contributions at the EXPO - and the branding of Denmark that takes place - while the intergovernmental organization Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) is responsible for the overall organization of the world exhibitions.
