Solvit

If your EU rights are breached by public authorities in another EU country, SOLVIT can help.

  • Updated 18. October 2023

If you encounter barriers to the free movement of goods in the EU, you may try to solve the issues through the SOLVIT-network. SOLVIT is an online problemsolving network, where all EU Member States work together to solve, without initiating legal proceedings, problems caused by the misapplication of EU law by Member State authorities. There exists a SOLVIT centre in every EU/EFTA Member State.

You may contact the SOLVIT centre in your own country, if you meet unlawful barriers to trade in other Member States. Using the SOLVIT network is free of charge.

Special SOLVIT-procedure for mutual recognition decisions

The regulation on mutual recognition (EU) 2019/515 states that when an economic operator wants to complain about an administrative decision on mutual recognition the SOLVIT-procedure has been made easier and commits the Commission to give an opinion within 45 days if the SOLVIT centres can’t agree on the solution.
