The A.P. Moller Foundation
The A.P. Moller Foundation (A.P. Møller og Hustru Chastine Mc-Kinney Møllers Fond til almene Formaal) is a Danish philanthropic commercial foundation. It was established in 1953 by Mr. A.P. Møller with the support of his children to safeguard the long-term viability of the A.P. Moller Group and the adherence of the core values and principles. The Foundation is named after Mr. A.P. Møller and his American wife Chastine Mc-Kinney Møller.
In accordance with Danish law The A.P. Moller Foundation operates independently of any other interests than those described in the Foundation’s statues.
The A.P. Moller Foundation’s donations are based on Mr. A.P. Møller’s legacy and matters of particular importance to him. All donations are philanthropic and for the common good.
In 2013 A.P. Moller Holding was established. It is vital for the A.P. Moller Foundation and A.P. Moller Holding to have a positive impact on society and develop ‘nyttig virksomhed’ in the spirit of Mr. A.P. Møller.
A.P. Moller Holding are engaged long-term owners, focusing on renewing, and expanding the Group of industry leading companies. The activities of A.P. Moller Holding ensure that the Foundation can contribute to society with donations for generations to come.
The Foundation owns 100% of the shares in A.P. Møller Holding A/S, which owns 41.51% of the stock and holds 51.45% of the voting rights in A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S.
The Novo Nordisk Foundation
The Novo Nordisk Foundation is an independent Danish enterprise foundation. The objectives of the Novo Nordisk Foundation are to provide a stable basis for the commercial and research activities of the companies in the Novo Group; as well as to support scientific, humanitarian and social causes. In 2022, the Foundation awarded a total of DKK 7.5 billion in grants for new projects and initiatives.
The vision of the Novo Nordisk Foundation is to improve people’s health and the sustainability of society and the planet, directing the majority of grants toward:
- Progressing research and innovation in the prevention and treatment of cardiometabolic and infectious diseases
- Advancing knowledge and solutions to support the green transition in society
- Investing in scientific research, education and innovation to enable a world class life science ecosystem in Denmark

Danish Crown was founded in 1887. Danish Crown is Europe’s largest producer and a major exporter of pork and organic meat, and among the top five producers of beef in Europe. We receive pigs and cattle for slaughter and further processing from our 5,737 Danish farmer owners and from farmers in Sweden, Germany and Poland. We have 69 abattoirs and processing facilities, 44 casing facilities, 13 separate warehouses and 55 offices. The majority of our 25,796 employees work at our production facilities in Europe.
